OpenShift Training

In our OpenShift training, we teach participants the basics of OpenShift and how to orchestrate containers in three days. The course includes everything necessary to build and manage a container cluster, including the most important concepts and best practices for operating applications in the OpenShift cluster in a reliable and secure way. The training is a combination of lecture and practical exercises. These are based on the operationsof OpenShift clusters. After completing this course, participants will be able to deploy, manage, and operate their applications in an OpenShift cluster.

Overview

This course is intended for participants who have already gained some experience with containers. After a brief introduction to containers, the trainer explains the design of a Kubernetes cluster and creates a basic understanding of how to use it. Furthermore, he or she presents details on provisioning an application and introduces Kubernetes objects that can manage the entire lifecycle of an application. We will discuss load balancing and persistent storage and describe infrastructure applications that enable logging and monitoring, for example.

Prerequisites

  • Linux and Terminal basics
  • Fundamental knowledge of containers recommended
  • Experience with a terminal editor, such as vi(m), nano, or emacs
  • Basic understanding of SSH
