Changelog Hangar Release 2025_10

Hangar Release 2025_10 – Stay Up to Date with Kubernetes Cluster Management Enhancements

Migration to operator pattern

With this release, we have fundamentally converted Hangar to the operator pattern. This architectural change offers numerous advantages:

  • Declarative configuration of clusters via Kubernetes-native CRDs
  • Improved lifecycle management with automatic status management
  • Greater stability and easier maintenance of the entire system

Extended multi-client capability

Multi-client capability has been significantly expanded and optimized:

  • Differentiated user roles with clearly defined permissions
  • Role-based KubeConfig generation with automatic permission checking
  • Improved integration of Keycloak for centralized identity management

Improved node management

Important functions have been added to node management:

  • Burstable dummy pods for precise resource monitoring in infrastructure clusters
  • Transparent display of node resources/node sizes in the UI

Infrastructure as Code

For improved deployment and maintenance:

  • Integration of Keycloak into the Hangar Helmchart
  • Preconfigured Keycloak instance, ideal for deploying development and testing environments

Performance & Stability

Numerous improvements for more robust operation:

  • Comprehensive test suite for operators with complete lifecycle coverage
  • Optimized CI/CD pipeline for faster and more reliable releases
  • Support for the latest Kubernetes versions (1.31 – 1.33)
  • Simplified installation and configuration for a better user experience
